The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to officially introduce Finidi George as the new head coach of the Super Eagles in Abuja tomorrow, Monday, May 13th, 2024.

The unveiling ceremony marks the official beginning of Finidi’s reign as manager of the national team.

The former Ajax winger was appointed two weeks ago after serving as assistant coach under Jose Peseiro for 20 months. 

Finidi brings a wealth of experience to the role, having enjoyed a successful playing career that included appearances in the 1994 and 1998 FIFA World Cups for Nigeria. He also recently led Enyimba FC to a Nigerian Premier League title last season.

The 53-year-old coach has a crucial task ahead of him, with crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa (home) and Benin Republic (away) scheduled for just a few weeks away. There’s much anticipation surrounding Finidi’s approach and the direction he’ll take the Super Eagles.
