Adamawa state Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has instructed the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to select 21 women as chairmanship running mates for the upcoming local government election in Adamawa State, scheduled for July 13.

Speaking at a stakeholders meeting at the Government House, Yola, on Tuesday, Governor Fintiri emphasized the importance of recognizing women’s contributions to the party.

He pledged that his administration will continue to support and empower women, ensuring they receive the attention they deserve.

The Governor warned party stakeholders against sabotage and anti-party activities during the election, stressing that such behavior is harmful to the PDP. He urged those responsible to use this opportunity to correct their past mistakes.

The directive aims to promote gender inclusivity and women’s participation in the political process.
