Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has reaffirmed his commitment to empowering youths and women for sustained growth in the state.
He made this pledge during a courtesy visit from the Yusrah Muslim and Youths Organisation at the Government House, Yola.
Expressing his appreciation for the visit, which coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, Governor Fintiri highlighted the significant development witnessed across Adamawa State, attributing it to the fulfilment of his campaign promises for good governance.
“We are dedicated to ensuring that our youths and women have the opportunities they need to thrive,” Governor Fintiri stated.

“This is a core part of our commitment to good governance.”
He recalled the challenging conditions the state faced at the inception of his administration, including distress and insurgency activities, but emphasised the success in bringing the situation under control.
“Youths and women are among the most vulnerable in our society,” Governor Fintiri acknowledged.
“Therefore, we are prioritising their education and recruiting more teachers to staff our newly built institutions, including those specifically dedicated to women.”
He urged the visiting delegation to continue their prayers and advocacy for mutual understanding among the people of Adamawa State.
Professor Fatima Joda, speaking on behalf of the Amirah and the Yusrah Muslim and Youths Organisation, commended Governor Fintiri for his various interventions in the state, which have significantly impacted women’s businesses.
These interventions include the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency and infrastructural development, among others.
“We recognise and appreciate the governor’s efforts in revitalising women’s businesses and empowering youths,” Professor Joda said.
“Our organisation is committed to assisting women and youths through skills acquisition and empowerment programmes.”
