Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has announced that the performance of local government chairmen will play a central role in evaluating his administration’s progress as it marks its two-year anniversary.
In a statement released by the governor’s media group aide Muhammad B. Tukur Gcfr on Monday, the governor shared the details of the evaluation process while receiving a delegation of local council chairmen who had come to pay Sallah homage at the Government House in Yola.
The delegation was led by Engineer Suleiman Ahmed Gangkuba, the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Adamawa State.
During the meeting, Governor Fintiri urged the chairmen to redouble their efforts in delivering quality governance at the grassroots level.
He emphasised that his forthcoming tour of the state will be centred on assessing local development needs and ensuring they are met.
Governor Fintiri also highlighted the importance of hard work in the political process, noting that his successor will be someone who has strong political experience rooted in the grassroots.
“The tour will focus on assessing the development needs of local communities and ensuring that these are addressed appropriately,” he stated.
Engineer Suleiman Gangkuba, who led the delegation, took the opportunity to extend Eid-el-Fitr greetings to the governor, expressing their ongoing support for his leadership.
He praised Governor Fintiri for his political mentorship and reaffirmed the commitment of the local government chairmen to his administration.
