The Force Public Relations Department (FPRD) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Taraba State Police Command, Superintendent of Police SP Abdulahi Usman.
He passed away in the early hours of Sunday, 23rd March 2025, following a prolonged illness.
SP Usman, who served as the spokesperson for the Taraba State Command for three years, was widely respected for his commitment to bridging the gap between the police and the public.
His tenure was marked by efforts to foster transparency, trust, and cooperation between law enforcement and the community.

“SP Usman was more than a colleague; he was a dedicated officer who understood the importance of public trust in policing,” said Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
“His warmth, professionalism, and unwavering sense of duty earned him the admiration of his peers and the public alike. His loss is deeply felt by all who knew him.”
The FPRD described his passing as a significant loss not only to the Taraba State Command but to the entire Police Force. Officers who worked closely with him recalled his passion for service, his integrity, and his ability to connect with people.
ACP Adejobi, who shared a close professional bond with the late officer, extended his condolences to SP Usman’s family, friends, and colleagues.
“Beyond being an officer, he was a friend and a brother in service. His contributions will not be forgotten,” he said.
As the Force mourns his passing, the FPRD reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the values that SP Usman exemplified throughout his career.
“We take solace in the legacy he left behind—a legacy of service, honour, and dedication,” ACP Adejobi added.
The police force stands in solidarity with his family and loved ones during this difficult time and prays for the peaceful repose of his soul.
