Major General Folusho Oyinlola, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation Safe Haven, on Friday commended the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives’ Association (NAOWA) for their unwavering support to military personnel and their families.
Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 3 Division Nigerian Army, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
According to the statement, during a courtesy visit by the NAOWA 3 Division chapter to the GOC’s office, Major General Oyinlola acknowledged the challenges faced by military spouses while their partners serve the nation.
“The history of NAOWA’s 3 Division Chapter is one of profound value and unwavering philanthropic service,” he stated.
“Indeed, you are far more than just our partners at home; you are our partners in progress.”
The GOC expressed appreciation for NAOWA’s various welfare schemes, stating, “The numerous initiatives you have rolled out not only enrich the community but also ensure that support and opportunities are provided where they are needed the most.”
Dr. (Mrs.) Temitope Oyinlola, Chairperson of NAOWA 3 Division Chapter, congratulated the GOC on his appointment and expressed gratitude for the partnership between NAOWA and the military.
She highlighted the need for continued support from the GOC to facilitate NAOWA’s activities.
Dr. Oyinlola also acknowledged the achievements of her predecessor, Mrs. Fibishola Abubakar, particularly praising the construction of the Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja (MAL) recreational park.
“I promise to build on the successes of my predecessor and deepen our commitment to creating a supportive environment for our families,” she stated.
The visit underscored the crucial role of family support systems in enhancing the effectiveness of military personnel on active duty.
