Major General Folusho Oyinlola, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander of Operation Safe Haven, has commended the troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army for their operational excellence in Taraba State.

This is contained in a statement issued by Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 6 Brigade Nigerian Army Saturday March 1, 2025.

According to the statement, the GOC made the commendation during his operational visit on February 28, 2025, he also expressed gratitude to the Taraba State Government for their continued support.

Major General Oyinlola praised the troops for their bravery and dedication in maintaining peace and security.

He received a detailed briefing from Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of 6 Brigade, on the brigade’s activities, successes, and challenges.

“I am highly impressed with the outstanding performance of the troops of 6 Brigade,” Major General Oyinlola stated. “Their hard work and dedication have significantly contributed to the relative peace we are witnessing in Taraba State.”

He further commended Brigadier General Uwa’s leadership, acknowledging his relentless efforts in ensuring the safety of Taraba residents.

During the visit, a display of recovered arms, ammunition, and surveillance equipment was presented, showcasing the brigade’s operational successes.

The GOC also paid a courtesy visit to Governor Agbu Kefas at the State Executive Chambers. “I thank the Governor and the people of Taraba State for their unwavering support to the Nigerian Army,” Major General Oyinlola said.

“My visit is to assess the operational readiness of our troops and to reaffirm our commitment to reducing insecurity to the barest minimum.”

Governor Kefas congratulated the GOC on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to enhance security in the region.

“We appreciate the strong working relationship between the 6 Brigade and the state government,” Governor Kefas remarked.

“This collaboration has been crucial in ensuring the safety of lives and property.” He assured the GOC of the state government’s continued support.

Additionally, Major General Oyinlola visited His Royal Highness, the Emir of Muri, Alhaji Abbas Njidda Tafida, at his palace. The Emir pledged his full cooperation and support for the military’s efforts to secure the state.

“We are delighted with the GOC’s visit and assure him of our continued support,” the Emir stated. “We are committed to working with the military to ensure the safety of our people.”

The visit also included the presentation of souvenirs, the signing of the visitor’s book, a group photograph, a tour of ongoing projects, and a visit to the 114 Battalion (Rear).
