The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (COPSH), Major General Folusho Oyinlola, conducted an operational visit to Forward Operating Base (FOB) Tafawa Balewa on Sunday, April 27, 2025.
According to a statement by Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer for Operation SAFE HAVEN, the visit was part of efforts to ensure the safety of lives and property within the Operation SAFE HAVEN Joint Operations Area (JOA).
Upon arrival at the FOB Headquarters, General Oyinlola was received by the FOB Commander, Lieutenant Colonel EP Isah, and briefed on the security situation and operational activities in the area.
General Oyinlola commended the FOB for its “operational gains in the fight against crime and non-state actors” and for making “significant progress in the use of a non-kinetic approach in enhancing security within the JOA.”
He charged the personnel to “continually dominate the Area of Responsibility with offensive patrols” to deny criminal elements freedom of action.
Furthermore, General Oyinlola assured the FOB of “welfare and logistics support” to boost its operational efficiency.
The visit included the presentation of a briefing, signing of the visitorsโ book, presentation of souvenirs, and a group photograph.
