The Gombe State Government has finalised a deal with Rano Air Limited to begin scheduled commercial flights between Abuja and Gombe, enhancing connectivity and boosting economic activity in the North-East.
According to a statement issued by the arrangement, it was sealed with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on October 17, 2025.
The statement also explained that it followed a meeting in Abuja between Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and the airline’s management.
The airline will use an Embraer 145 aircraft, which seats 50 passengers, to operate four weekly flights on the Abuja-Gombe-Abuja route.
The flights are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, signed the MoU for Gombe State, while the General Manager (Operations) of Rano Air, Mr Abah Godwin, signed for the airline.
Governor Yahaya welcomed the development, describing it as “proof of the growing reputation of Gombe as a safe, stable and business-friendly state.”
Rano Air officials assured the Governor that their services would be “reliable, efficient and customer-focused, thereby facilitating business travel and boosting economic activities across the state and the Northeast.”
