Gombe State is intensifying preparations for the 2024 National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, with the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Adamu Inuwa Ibrahim, reaffirming the state’s commitment to participating in both the zonal elimination in Taraba and the main event.

“We’re still preparing as usual, and God willing, we’ll attend the zonal elimination in Taraba and the National Youth Games proper in Asaba,” the Commissioner said.

Preparations are in full swing for the zonal eliminations, scheduled for August 28–September 1 in Jalingo, Taraba State, and the National Youth Games, set for September 9–19 in Asaba.

Ibrahim praised the consistent support from Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, citing the administration’s commitment to grassroots sports development as instrumental in the state’s sporting progress.

“The government is doing its best to support grassroots sports development. We appreciate the governor’s continuous support and look forward to his continued backing,” Ibrahim said.
