Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has set up committees for the distribution of Ramadan palliatives across the state, aiming to provide relief to citizens during the holy month.
This is contained in a statement issued on Friday by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General (Press Affairs). Government House Gombe.
According to the statement, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Secretary to the State Government, announced the Governor’s approval, stating that the committees will ensure “smooth and effective distribution of the relief materials.”
The committees include a State Coordinator, Local Government Committee Chairmen, Members, and Ward Committee Members. Rt. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo will serve as the State Coordinator.
Local Government Coordinators have also been appointed, including Abdulkadir Mohammed Malle for Akko LGA, Col. Abdullahi Bello (Rtd) for Balanga LGA, and others for the remaining local government areas.
“The committees are composed of Hon. Commissioners, Special Advisers, State House of Assembly members, local government council Chairmen, Traditional Rulers, APC Chairmen, and representatives from CSOs, women, youth, persons with disabilities, and religious groups,” Prof. Njodi explained.
Ward Distribution Committees will consist of Ward Chairmen, Councillors, representatives of women, youth, traditional institutions, religious groups, NGOs/CSOs, and major stakeholders.
The formal inauguration of the committees will take place on Saturday at the SSG’s Conference Hall, Government House.
