The Gombe State Police Command has assured the public of full security measures ahead of a planned protest on June 12, Democracy Day.
According to a statement released by the Command, Commissioner of Police, CP Hayatu Usman, pledged to ensure public order and safety during the national holiday while respecting citizens’ right to peaceful assembly.
The Police Commissioner emphasized that the Command is committed to protecting citizens’ rights and freedoms while maintaining security and stability in the community.
He warned that any individuals or groups inciting violence or engaging in unlawful activities will face the full force of the law.
CP Usman highlighted the critical role of the Police in ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens and appealed for calm and urged the public to cooperate with the security agencies.
The Police Command’s assurance comes ahead of the planned protest on Democracy Day, June 12, 2024.
