Gov. Abba Yusuf Laments Passing of Kannywood Legend, Karkuzu

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of renowned Kannywood actor, Abdullahi Shuaibu, affectionately known as Karkuzu.

The veteran actor passed away after a prolonged illness at the age of 94.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Friday, Governor Yusuf conveyed his condolences, acknowledging the significant loss to the Kannywood film industry.

“Karkuzu’s departure has left a gaping void,” the governor stated.

“We have lost a truly talented actor, a man dedicated to his craft, and a mentor who shaped the careers of many rising stars within the industry.”

Governor Yusuf highlighted Karkuzu’s versatility and unwavering commitment to his roles, noting his ability to seamlessly transition between comedic and serious performances.

“He possessed a unique ability to captivate audiences, demonstrating a range of skills that few could match,” the governor remarked.

“Karkuzu’s contributions to Kannywood are immeasurable,” Dawakin Tofa relayed.

“He was a pillar of the industry, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations of actors.”

On behalf of the government and people of Kano State, Governor Yusuf extended his deepest sympathies to Karkuzu’s family, the Kannywood community, and the broader film industry.

“Our hearts go out to all those who knew and loved him,” the governor said.

“We share in their grief during this difficult time.”

Governor Yusuf concluded by offering prayers for the late actor. “May Almighty Allah grant Karkuzu’s gentle soul eternal rest, and may Jannatul Firdausi be his final abode,” he prayed.
