Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has presented the staff of the office to Dr. Ali Danburam, officially making him the first Ptil Madagali.
The coronation ceremony took place in Gulak, marking the sixth such event aimed at strengthening traditional institutions in the state.
Governor Fintiri stressed the importance of emirates and chiefdoms in promoting unity and restoring dignity.
He recalled the past hardships faced by Madagali, including the Boko Haram insurgency, and commended the community’s resilience.
“This coronation reaffirms our commitment to justice and dignity,” he said, urging support for the newly established Madagali Chiefdom and its leader.
He called for a revival of local businesses and charged Ptil Madagali with uniting the people and making security a priority.
Former Governor Bala Ngilari and the Lamido Adamawa, represented by the Wali Adamawa, praised the governor’s efforts in transforming the state. In his acceptance speech, Dr. Danburam promised to lead with selflessness and dedication.
