Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reinstated the Emir of Gaya, citing the traditional ruler’s “unwavering faith, humility, and total submission to the will of Allah” during his dethronement.
According to a statement released by Governor Yusuf’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor made the announcement during a Sallah homage visit by the Emir at the Kano Government House.
Governor Yusuf commended the Emir’s response to his removal, describing it as exemplary.
“The Emir of Gaya showed true submission to the will of Allah when he was dethroned. He neither resisted nor protested but instead accepted it in good faith and placed his trust in Allah,” the governor stated.

“It is this rare display of humility and patience that earned him his reinstatement.”
The governor reassured the Emir of his administration’s commitment to developing Gaya Emirate, announcing that engineers have been deployed to assess infrastructure needs.
“Our government is determined to transform Gaya into a modern city,” Governor Yusuf said, outlining plans for road construction and improved drainage systems.
He also emphasised his administration’s respect for traditional institutions, recognising their role in maintaining peace and promoting cultural heritage.
Emir Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir expressed gratitude to the governor for his support and pledged to work closely with the government.
The governor’s decision is seen as a recognition of the importance of patience, humility, and loyalty in leadership.
