Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has announced the appointment of Alhaji Abubakar Muhammadu Ibn Grema as the new Emir of Tikau.
This follows the unanimous recommendation of the Tikau Emirate Council kingmakers.
Alhaji Abubakar Muhammadu Ibn Grema is the eldest son of the late Emir, Alhaji Dr. Muhammadu Abubakar Ibn Grema.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics and extension from Bayero University Kano, a Master’s degree in agricultural economics with a focus on applied econometrics, development, and resource economics, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in rural development.
Alhaji Abubakar has extensive experience working at Yobe State University, where he currently serves as the principal manager of the university farm.He has also participated in various training pprogrammes including environmental impact assessment and health and safety protocols.
The appointment, effective immediately, was announced in a statement signed by Secretary to the State Government Baba Malam Wali.
