Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the allocation of plots of land to members of the Kwankwasiyya Marshals, recognising their unwavering support before, during, and after the recent elections.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, following an Iftar gathering at the Government House, Kano, on Tuesday.
The statement emphasised that the plots were sourced from government-owned land, countering claims that public property had been appropriated for the initiative.
In addition to the land allocations, Governor Yusuf pledged Hajj seats for each group of marshals, allowing them to participate in the 2025 pilgrimage.

He also announced the provision of brand-new Hilux vehicles to enhance their operational effectiveness.
Expressing his gratitude to the Marshals, the governor lauded their dedication and rapid response in protecting the administration and its supporters.
“You are not just supporters of this government; you are partners in progress. Your sacrifices and commitment have not gone unnoticed, and we remain committed to ensuring you reap the dividends of democracy,” he stated.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Marshals, Hon. Isa Musa Kumurya, praised the initiative, describing it as a testament to the administration’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity.
“Governor Yusuf has once again demonstrated that his leadership is for all, ensuring that every loyal hand that toiled for this government is duly rewarded,” he remarked.
Further highlighting the impact of the administration’s empowerment initiatives, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Marshals, Alhaji Babangida (IBB), shared an inspiring account of a beneficiary who sold a motorcycle received through a government scheme, purchased a plot of land, and later leased it to a telecommunications company for N6 million over two years.
The Special Adviser on Youths, Alhaji Sani Danja, also commended the Governor, noting that his leadership had inspired widespread public goodwill without the need for financial inducements.
“Governor Yusuf has made history as a leader whose people pray for his success purely out of belief in his vision. That speaks volumes about the integrity of this administration,” he said.
The governor’s latest gesture reinforces his administration’s focus on rewarding loyalty and ensuring that grassroots supporters play an active role in Kano’s development.
