Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has bid farewell to 350 postgraduate students sponsored by the Kano State Government for studies in India, Uganda, and Malaysia.
The farewell occurred at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Thursday, November 13, 2025, according to a statement from the governorโs spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The students are beneficiaries of the state’s 1,001 Postgraduate Foreign and Domestic Scholarship Scheme.
Addressing the departing students, Governor Yusuf urged them to “take their studies seriously,” emphasizing that the scholarship is “a privilege and a responsibility to excel academically.”
He admonished them to serve as “good ambassadors of Kano State and Nigeria” and expressed confidence that the knowledge they acquire will “contribute positively to the development of Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.”
The governor reiterated his administrationโs commitment to “investing in the intellectual capital of Kanoโs youth” and assured the students of the government’s continued support.
