Gunmen Kidnap Catholic Priest in Adamawa, Police Launch Rescue Mission

Reverend Father Oliver Buba, a Catholic priest, was abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in the early hours of Tuesday, May 21st.

The incident occurred at his residence in Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The Catholic Diocese of Yola confirmed the kidnapping in a statement signed by Bishop Stephen Mamza. Bishop Mamza appealed to the public for prayers for Father Buba’s safe return.

Meanwhile, the police command in the state has confirmed the kidnapping incident.

The command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said in a statement on Wednesday that the command had deployed a rescue team to the forest for his rescue and rescued.
