The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) concluded a successful four-by-four handball seminar for the North East Zone.

The event took place on Monday, February  24, 2025 at the main bowl hall of the August 27th Stadium in Damaturu, Yobe State.

The seminar focused on the four-by-four format of handball, a Nigerian innovation designed for teams of four players. 

The training aimed to educate coaches and players on the rules of this dynamic game, providing them with the necessary skills for coaching and officiating. 

Participants learned about effective playing patterns, development strategies, and technical skills.

Hussaini Mohammed Abdulkadir, the North East zonal representative for the HFN and sponsor of the seminar, highlighted the event as crucial preparation for the upcoming National Championship.

He emphasized the four-by-four format’s role in developing stamina and endurance in players, noting its accessibility in schools.

Mr. James Ahmadu, representing the International Handball Federation, led the seminar, sharing his expertise with over fifty participants from across the North East zone. 

Also in attendance was Mr. Bala Mohammed Khalid, the Technical Director of the Handball Federation of Nigeria.

The seminar concluded with a group photograph and goodwill messages from the HFN to all participants.
