Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised at least 10 Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents and recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition in a major offensive conducted in Manawaji, near the Cameroon border in Borno State.

According to a statement released by Captain Reuben Kovangiya, Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations at the Headquarters Theatre Command, the operation was part of a renewed push to eliminate terrorist elements from the southern Lake Chad region.

The clearance operation, carried out between Rann and Gamboru Ngala, led to direct contact with terrorists.

Captain Kovangiya also explained that following a fierce gun battle, the troops eliminated 10 insurgents believed to have been involved in recent attacks that destabilised communities in the area.
Recovered during the operation were several weapons, including anti-aircraft ammunition suspected to have been looted from a previous attack on Cameroonian security forces.

“The troops displayed exceptional courage and tactical superiority in neutralising the threat,” the statement read.
“They remain committed to denying the terrorists freedom of movement across the region.”

The Army emphasised that the operation was in line with directives from the Chief of Defence Staff and reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist groups until full peace and stability are restored in the North East.

Operation Hadin Kai continues to serve as the Nigerian militaryโs frontline effort against insurgency in the region, with regular offensives targeting terrorist hideouts, supply routes, and logistics bases.
