Kadafur Receives Flood Relief Materials from FRCN, AMA Foundation

The Borno State Deputy Governor, Hon. Umar Kadafur, today welcomed delegations from the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and the Aminu Musa Abdulsalam Foundation (AMA Foundation) on sympathy visits to the state following the devastating floods that ravaged parts of Maiduguri and Jere Local Government Area on September 10, 2024.
 
The FRCN delegation, led by its Director General, Dr. Mohammed Bulama, presented relief materials to the state government. 
 
Bulama expressed deep sympathy for the victims of the flood, noting that over two million people were affected and properties worth billions of naira were destroyed.

He also disclosed that his family residence and the FRCN Maiduguri office were among those impacted.
 
The relief materials donated by the FRCN included food items, mats, buckets, kettles, slippers, and mosquito nets.
 
The AMA Foundation, led by its Director of Operations, Haj. Fatima Jaafar, also visited the Deputy Governor to offer medical outreach services to flood victims.

The foundation announced a ten-day medical outreach program covering paediatrics, maternal health, general medicine, and eye care. 
 
They are already providing services at the Kashim Shettima Maternity Centre and Eye Hospital in Maiduguri.
 
Jaafar requested the Borno State Government to identify another IDP camp where they could continue their medical outreach.
 
In response, Deputy Governor Kadafur expressed gratitude to both the FRCN and AMA Foundation for their support. 
 
He highlighted the strategic partnership between the state government and the FRCN and assured the AMA Foundation of continued collaboration. 
 
He also directed the Head of Service to liaise with the foundation for the successful implementation of their outreach program.
