Kadafur Urges Borno Pilgrims to Embody Hajj Values

Borno State Deputy Governor, Umar Usman Kadafur, has called on intending pilgrims to embody the values of patience, humility, discipline, and piety during the Hajj pilgrimage.

He made this charge at the launch of a Hajj education programme in Maiduguri on Sunday.

The Borno State Hajj Commission is conducting a four-day series of Da’awah lectures to educate pilgrims on the rites, duties, and proper conduct of Hajj.

Dr. Kadafur emphasised the significance of the program, stating, “As we prepare for the Hajj 2025 pilgrimage, this program has grown into an integral part of our Hajj preparations. It reflects our shared commitment to ensuring that our pilgrims are spiritually, mentally, and logistically prepared for the sacred journey.”

He stressed, “It is therefore our duty to ensure that every intending pilgrim not only understands the rituals of Hajj but also embodies the values of patience, humility, discipline, and piety that the journey represents.”

The Deputy Governor commended the Borno State Hajj Commission, Islamic scholars, and stakeholders for their work on the Da’awah initiative.

He urged pilgrims to actively participate in the lectures and assured them of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum’s commitment to a smooth and successful Hajj operation. He also reminded them to uphold the positive reputation of Borno pilgrims.

Alhaji Muhammad Dawule Maino, Chairman of the Borno State Hajj Commission, highlighted the commission’s preparedness for Hajj 2025 and emphasised the importance of the lectures.

“It had become imperative for lectures, collaboration and partnership so that the Hajj operations will be successful,” he said. Urging the pilgrims to take advantage of the lectures.

Barrister Ahmed Mohamed Abdulkadir, Chairman of the Da’awah Committee, stated that Governor Zulum inaugurated the commission on March 14, 2025, with a mandate to ensure the “effective, smooth, and successful coordination” of the 2025 Hajj.

He detailed the four-day lecture series featuring “highly respected scholars and Ulamas” to enhance pilgrim preparedness.

The event was attended by key figures, including Senator representing Borno Central Kaka Shehu Lawan (SAN), the Chief Imam of Borno, and other Islamic scholars and government officials.
