Kano CP Bakori Orders Intensified Security for Ramadan’s Final Days

As the holy month of Ramadan enters its final ten days, marked by increased religious activities and bustling markets, the Kano State Police Command has stepped up security measures.

This is contained in a statement issued by SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, Police Public Relations Officer, Kano State Command, on Wednesday.

Commissioner of Police (CP) Ibrahim Adamu Bakori has directed officers to intensify their presence around places of religious gatherings and markets to ensure public safety.

In a lecture delivered to Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Tactical Commanders, and other supervising officers on March 19, 2025, CP Bakori emphasised the critical role of community policing in crime prevention and public safety enhancement.

“We must increase our visibility in all areas of the state,” CP Bakori stated.

“Building trust with community members is essential. We must uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all our interactions.”

He stressed the importance of fostering strong relationships with the community, encouraging officers to be approachable and responsive to their needs.

The Commissioner reiterated the Command’s zero-tolerance policy towards corrupt practices and underscored the importance of respecting human rights in all police operations.

He directed officers to conduct their duties in a manner that upholds dignity and justice for all (J4A).

“Our duty is to serve and protect,” CP Bakori reminded his officers.

“We must ensure that our actions reflect our commitment to justice and respect for human rights.”

CP Bakori concluded by encouraging all personnel to remain committed to their roles as guardians of peace and security, assuring them of his support in their endeavours to serve the community effectively.

“We are here to serve the people of Kano State,” he asserted.

“Your dedication and commitment are vital in maintaining peace and security during these important final days of Ramadan.”

The statement confirmed that the command is fully prepared to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for all residents during the final days of Ramadan.
