Kano Edo Community Condemns Uromi Killings, Demands Thorough Investigation, Justice

The Kano Edo Community Association has issued a strong condemnation of the recent killings of travellers (hunters) in Uromi, Edo State, calling for Thorough Investigation, Justice.

In a statement released on March 28, 2025, signed by Mr Philip Tomch, representing the Edo Community Association in Kano, the association expressed its deep sorrow and called for a swift and comprehensive investigation into the incident.

The association, which operates under the motto “Peace & Unity”, stated its full support for the stance taken by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo in condemning the mob attack that occurred on March 27, 2025.

“We strongly condemn the incident that happened or occurred in Uromi, Edo State, where travellers (hunters) were attacked and killed,” the statement read.

“We stand on the side of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, and the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to condemn the mob attack by some hooligans in Uromi, Edo State, on the 27th of March, 2025.”

The association extended its heartfelt sympathies to the families of the victims, offering prayers during the holy month of Ramadan for peace to prevail in Nigeria.

They also urged security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

“The Edo Community Association in Kano strongly sympathises with the families of those that lost their lives,” the statement continued.

“We pray at this period of Holy Ramadan that the Almighty Allah will accept our prayers and for peace to reign in Nigeria.

The Edo Community Association in Kano strongly advises the security apparatus to properly investigate and bring the culprits to book.
