Kano Pillars Bolster Squad with 6 New Signings

Kano Pillars Football Club has strengthened its squad with six new players during the mid-season transfer window in an effort to improve their performance in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

This was disclosed in a statement from the club’s media directorate on Wednesday.

Welcoming the new signings,Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar, the club chairman, urged them to live up to expectations towards restoring the club’s lost glory.

“I welcome the new signings and urge them to help restore Kano Pillars to its former glory,” said Alhaji Umar

The players signed include two defenders: Dawud Ibrahim from Kebbi United and Uzogara Kennedy from Rivers United.

In attack, Pillars have acquired three strikers: Eshimitu Gomino Eya from FRSC, Hadi Mohammed Olarewanju from Bayelsa United, and Jerry Alex, who returns to the club after a stint abroad.

The midfield has also been bolstered with the addition of Ezeh Charles, who previously played for Lillestrรธm SK of Norway and FK Kom of Montenegro.

Meanwhile, four players have departed the club. Usman Aminu Maidubji and Yusuf Abdullahi have been loaned to other clubs in the Nigeria National League (NNL).

Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Anaful’s contract was terminated by mutual consent, while striker Abdulmajeed Aminu is set to join South African side Moneni Pirates.
