Kano police Arraign Shamsiyya-led thieves syndicate; recover stolen phones

The Kano State Police Command has arraigned Shamsiyya Adamu, a female-led syndicate of thieves, and her gang before a Chief Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
 
SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the PPRO Kano State Command, disclosed in a statement on Tuesday that the syndicate, led by Shamsiyya Adamu, along with four other members, were arraigned for criminal conspiracy, trespass, and theft. 
 
According to SP Kiyawa, four additional suspectsโ€”Fati Auwal, Kamal Sale, Usman Nasir, and Bashir Ibrahimโ€”were arrested for theft and receiving stolen property. 
 
Twelve mobile phones were recovered from them, and investigations are ongoing.
 
A total of 86 people have lodged complaints against the suspects, highlighting the extent of their criminal activities.
 
“The State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, has directed the continuation of the recovery of stolen phones and appreciated the support and cooperation of the law-abiding people of the state.”
 
“This development is part of the Kano State Police Command’s efforts to ensure safety and security in the state.” Concluded SP Kiyawa.
