The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the death of a notorious thug and armed robbery suspect, Halifa Baba-Beru, during a police operation.
The suspect, a resident of Gwammaja Quarters in Dala Local Government Area, was apprehended on Tuesday afternoon by officers from the Dala Division.
According to a security expert Zagazola Makama, the arrest, which occurred around 1:00 p.m., turned violent when Baba-Beruโs accomplices attacked the patrol team in an attempt to free him.
The confrontation resulted in serious injuries to two police officers, Corporal Abdullahi Ibrahim and Sergeant Yahaya Saidu.
The suspect, Baba-Beru, also sustained gunshot wounds during the encounter.

“The injured policemen and the suspect were rushed to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, where the suspect was confirmed dead while receiving treatment,” sources within the police stated.
The Kano State Police Command has announced that investigations into the incident are ongoing, and efforts are being intensified to apprehend the accomplices who fled the scene.
The police reassured residents of their commitment to maintaining public safety and urged citizens to provide any information that could aid in the arrest of criminal elements throughout the state.
