Kano Police Return N4.85 Million Ransom to Kidnapping Victim

The Kano State Police Command has recovered and returned N4.85 million to a kidnapping victim, following a successful operation.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa announced the recovery in a press release on Wednesday.

The victim, a resident of Zakirai Town, Gabasawa LGA, was abducted from his home on March 8th, with kidnappers demanding a N15 million ransom.

“Through a technical-based operation and intelligence-driven investigation, five suspects were arrested, and the victim was rescued on March 17th,” stated SP Kiyawa l.

The recovered funds were handed over to the victim by Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori through Hon. Pharm. Sagir Usman Abubakar, the local government chairman of Gabasawa LGA.

“We are grateful to the Kano Police for their swift response and professionalism,” Abubakar said.

CP Bakori reiterated the command’s commitment to fighting crime and urged the public to provide information to assist their efforts.
