Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda will begin a three-week medical leave on Monday, August 18, to address health concerns.
The Katsina State Ministry of Information and Culture announced the leave in a press release on Wednesday, August 13.
To ensure “seamless governance”, Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal has been designated to serve as acting governor during Radda’s absence.
Governor Radda expressed gratitude for the public’s support and prayers. “Taking the necessary steps to prioritise my health is essential so I can continue to serve effectively and make the best decisions for our state,” he said.
“I look forward to returning to my duties as soon as I finish my medical check-up.”

The ministry assured the public that all ongoing initiatives, programmes, and projects will continue without interruption, and the governor expressed confidence in his deputy’s ability to lead.
