The Katsina State Police Command has activated heightened school protection mechanisms across the state in the wake of the abduction of students by bandits.
This is contained in a statement issued on 23 November 2025 by DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO).
The announcement follows a security review meeting led by Commissioner of Police Bello Shehu, who said the directive aligns with orders from the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
He explained that tactical commanders have been tasked with enhancing existing strategies and deploying additional resources.
โWe are prioritising the safety of all educational institutions,โ the commissioner stated.
“Every school in Katsina State must receive adequate protection.โ
He urged residents to support police operations, saying, โPublic cooperation is crucial. We need timely information to keep our communities safe.โ
