Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, commended the impressive turnout of voters at the local government elections on Saturday.

The governor made the commendation when he cast his vote on Saturday at Polling Unit 010, Barebari A of Radda ward in Charanchi local government area.

Radda was at the polling station accompanied by his wife, Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko Radda.

According to a statement issued by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Katsina State, Governor Radda expressed deep satisfaction with the orderly conduct of voters at the polling unit when he spoke to journalists after exercising his civic duty.

“The impressive turnout and orderly behaviour of voters at this polling unit demonstrate that our democracy has reached maturity,” the governor stated.

The governor further told newsmen about his administration’s commitment to protecting voters’ civic rights, noting that “leaders who will emerge at the end of this election will truly represent the people’s choice.”

The governor also explained that special arrangements were put in place to ensure comprehensive coverage of all sections of the state during the electoral process.

Additionally, Governor Radda commended the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC), security agencies, and electoral observers for their diligent efforts in safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.

“The arrangement made by SIEC, our security agencies, and the observers on the ground will ensure that the civic rights of voters are not tampered with,” he affirmed.
