Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, received in courtesy representatives from the Neya Kalu Foundation and Annomo Health, reiterating his administration’s commitment to ensuring universal access to quality healthcare for every resident.
The governor stressed that collaboration with organisations is crucial to deliver world-class medical services, particularly to vulnerable groups like children and pregnant women, even in remote areas.
During the meeting at the TY Danjuma House in Jalingo on Tuesday, Governor Kefas emphasised that every resident “deserves access to quality healthcare”.
He disclosed key government initiatives aimed at boosting medical outreach, including the provision of buses and mini-ambulances for the sixty remodelled schools currently under construction across the state.
This move is intended to enhance emergency response and patient transport in underserved communities.
To facilitate rapid improvements, the Governor has directed the Commissioner for Health to immediately embark on a comprehensive tour of all medical facilities in Taraba.
This tour will be conducted in collaboration with the visiting organisations to identify specific areas requiring upgrades to achieve the universal access goal.
The partnership seeks to leverage external expertise and resources to modernise the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
