Kogi Police Commissioner Distributes ₦24.9m to Fallen Officers’ Families

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, on Thursday, October 16, 2025, presented cheques totalling ₦24,999,348.63 to 41 families of police officers who died in active service.

This is contained in a statement issued by SP William Ovye Aya, Police Public Relations Officer, Kogi State Police Command, on Thursday, October 16, 2025.

According to the statement, the funds were disbursed under the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Schemes.

Speaking during the presentation, CP Dantawaye commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for what he described as “an unwavering commitment to the welfare of police officers and their families.”

He said the IGP’s leadership “continues to uplift morale, enhance performance, and bring relief to families of fallen heroes.”

The Commissioner also prayed for God’s blessings on the IGP for “his kindness and dedication to improving police welfare nationwide.”

CP Dantawaye urged beneficiaries to make wise use of the money, advising them to invest in ventures that would sustain their families.

“Use this support prudently to secure your future and honour the memory of your loved ones,” he stated.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mohammed Sanusi, son of one of the deceased officers, expressed appreciation to the IGP for the gesture.

“This support will greatly impact our lives, and we promise to use it responsibly,” he said.
