The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) leading Operation Lake Sanity 2 is urging residents of Kukawa and surrounding communities to disregard recent threats from the ISWAP terrorist group. 
 
The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) has been spreading propaganda, calling for residents to flee or face attack. 
 
“This propaganda is a desperate attempt to intimidate the public,” said Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Chief Military Public Information Officer for the MNJTF. “It’s a sign that the terrorists are losing ground and becoming increasingly frustrated.”
 
The MNJTF, along with Nigerian forces under Operation Hadin Kai, are actively pursuing Boko Haram insurgents and working to neutralise any threats. 
 
Their presence serves as a shield against terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin region.
 
“We urge residents not to succumb to fear tactics,” said Abdullahi. “Instead, remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the troops immediately.”
