Nine months after the demise of Hon. Ekene Adams Abubakar, his legacy of service continues to thrive as his team, under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), distributed over 550 hospital equipment to 11 Primary Health Care (PHC) centers across Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency.

At a ceremony held in Kaduna, at the weekend, the late lawmaker’s team reaffirmed their commitment to upholding his promises, reinforcing his reputation for effective representation.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the Director General of Finance to the late Lawmaker and ADC’s flag bearer for the upcoming by-election, Hon. Alexander Igoji Adanu, emphasized that the initiatives championed by his late principal would not wane, assuring constituents that their development agenda remains unwavering.

“The person who should be unveiling this project is my boss, late Hon. Ekene Adams Abubakar,” Adanu said with emotion. “But to God be the glory, his legacy lives on. We have executed more than four of his campaign promises since his passing, and this is just one of many.”

He listed completed projects, including a transformer installation and the renovation of a primary school in Yelwa, as evidence of their dedication. Adanu reiterated that their work is driven by a clear vision and a commitment to the people’s welfare, urging constituents to support their efforts with prayers.

When asked why they did not divert the equipment for personal gain, Adanu stated, “We are guided by the fear of God and a commitment to societal growth. Development must continue in Chikun/Kajuru.”

Expressing his appreciation, the Madakin Kajuru, Alhaji Musa Allhassan, lauded the late lawmaker’s team for their unwavering dedication. He urged beneficiaries to ensure proper utilization of the donated items for the benefit of their communities.

Mrs. Agnes Maude, Manager of Sabon Tasha PHC, acknowledged the impact of the gesture, stating, “This equipment will enhance service delivery, particularly for grassroots communities.”

The distributed items included hospital beds, mattresses, screens, pillows, safety boxes, delivery beds, patient gowns, examination couches, and bedside lockers. Beneficiaries spanned 11 PHCs, including those in Nassarawa, Sabon Tasha Under Bridge, Iburu, Kajuru, Kalla, Ridge, Trinkania, Romi/Yelwa, Narayi General Pump, Tudun Wada Kujama, and Kakau.
