The Commander of Operation Safe Haven and General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Folusho Oyinlola, has pledged full cooperation with the Plateau State Government’s Fact-Finding Committee on security, assuring that the military will support efforts to end recurring violence in the state.
Samson Nantip Zhakom, Major Media Information Officer, Operation SAFE HAVEN, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
According to the statement, the assurance came on Tuesday as the Commander received members of the 10-man high-powered committee set up by Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the Headquarters of 3 Division, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos.
The Committee, inaugurated on May 20, 2025, is tasked with identifying lasting solutions to the persistent attacks on communities across Plateau State.
Committee Chairman, Major General R.I. Nicholas (Rtd), said the team’s visit was to foster a collaborative relationship with Operation SAFE HAVEN.
“The military remains a critical institution in this assignment. With access to the right intelligence and records—especially from 2001 to date—we believe workable solutions can be developed to end the circle of violence,” he said.
In response, Major General Oyinlola praised the pedigree of the committee members and welcomed their involvement.
“Your experience and commitment give us hope that this Committee will come up with sustainable solutions,” he stated.
“We will make available all necessary information to support your work.”
He also urged residents to avoid taking the law into their hands and instead report grievances to security agencies for prompt intervention.
The visit included a presentation of briefings, an interactive session, signing of the visitors’ book, and a group photograph.
