Professor Bulus Luka Gadiga has been officially installed as the Mbege Ka Michika I, with Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri presenting him with the staff of the office.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the Kamwe (Higgi) people, signifying a renewed commitment to their rich heritage and unity, according to a statement issued by Muhammad B. Tukur Gcfr, Governor Fintiri’s New Media aide.
Governor Fintiri expressed joy over the historic event, highlighting the importance of unity and community spirit.
He acknowledged the Kamwe people’s resilience and their rich history dating back to the 15th century, noting their contributions across various fields.
“The establishment of the Michika Chiefdom was a response to the community’s wishes, aimed at unlocking local resources and fostering development,” Governor Fintiri said.

He urged the community to collaborate for peace and progress, outlining his administration’s support for infrastructure, education, healthcare, and agriculture.
In his acceptance speech, Professor Gadiga embraced his new role with a sense of responsibility.
“I thank the Governor for his support in creating the Chiefdom and call for unity among our people,” he said. He invited elders to offer guidance and encouraged youth to use social media positively.
Gadiga committed to transparent leadership and announced the conferment of the title Dluka Ka Michika to Governor Fintiri in recognition of his support.
Senator Amos Yohanna conveyed his congratulations and prayers for the future greatness of the Chiefdom.
