MNJTF Troops Nab 2 Terrorists’ Operatives, Rescue Families

In a major counter-terrorism breakthrough, Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) troops have apprehended two key operatives of Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in the Lake Chad Region.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, Chief Military Information Officer, HQ MNJTF, the operatives were caught supplying illicit drugs and materials for sewing uniforms and flags for the terrorist groups.

The first operative, Yahaya Muhammad, was arrested along the Kekeno-Cross Kauwa Road with a substantial quantity of hard drugs, including Indian hemp and various other illicit substances.

He was not a licensed pharmacist.

In a separate operation, another operative was arrested along the Gubio-Damasak Road with two sacks containing 19 bundles of clothing material suspected to be intended for making uniforms and flags for Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters.

Troops also rescued three women and a baby, suspected family members of the terrorists, who had escaped from Jubillaram in the southern Lake Chad Island.

They are undergoing medical assessment and profiling.

This operation disrupts the supply chains sustaining these terrorist groups and rescues innocent lives from their grasp, marking a significant step forward in the fight against terrorism in the Lake Chad Region.
