The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its nationwide counterterrorism and anti-banditry operations, conducting a series of precision airstrikes that neutralised Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists and armed bandits across Borno, Kwara, Katsina, Zamfara, and Kaduna States.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, disclosed this in a statement issued on 10 November 2025, noting that the coordinated missions were executed under Operation HADIN KAI and Operation FANSAN YAMMA.
Ejodame said the air interdictions marked โa decisive phase in the ongoing joint operations aimed at degrading terrorist and criminal networks across Nigeriaโs northern corridors.โ
In Borno State, precision strikes targeted ISWAP positions in Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram following real-time intelligence and surveillance data. โ
Our air assets struck multiple insurgent hideouts, destroying weapons storage sites and neutralising several terrorists,โ Ejodame stated, adding that the strikes crippled ISWAPโs mobility and logistics in the Lake Chad Basin.
Simultaneous air operations in Kwara State hit bandit enclaves in Garin Dandi and Chigogo, causing panic and heavy losses among the criminals.
In Katsina State, NAF aircraft under Operation FANSAN YAMMA bombarded Zango Hill in Kankara Local Government Area, the base of a notorious terrorist kingpin, eliminating multiple fighters and destroying key logistics hubs.
Further reconnaissance and strike missions were carried out across Zamfara, Kebbi, and Kaduna States, targeting armed groups along the Birnin GwariโFuntua axis.
According to Ejodame, โSuspicious movements near Wam Hill were tracked and swiftly engaged by aircrews, neutralising the fleeing terrorists.โ
The NAF spokesperson emphasised that the success of these operations reflects the renewed directive of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, to deploy โintelligence-driven, precision airpowerโ in neutralising threats to national security.
โThese missions reaffirm our resolve to protect citizens and sustain pressure on insurgents until peace is fully restored,โ Ejodame concluded.
With the latest strikes, the Air Force appears to be maintaining stronger coordination with ground troops, a move analysts say could reshape the fight against insurgency in Nigeriaโs northern region.
