Jigawa State Governor Malam Umar Namadi has assured the management of the newly established Federal College of Agriculture, Kirikasamma, of the state government’s full support as the institution commences its takeoff phase.
The pledge was made during a courtesy visit by the pioneer management team, led by the Provost, Dr. Muhammad Yusha’u Gwaram, to the Government House in Dutse on Friday November 21, 2025, according to a press release from Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
Governor Namadi congratulated the team on their “historic and consequential” appointment, acknowledging that establishing a new institution is a demanding task.
“Establishing a new institution is not an effortless task. But I am confident, given the calibre of the team, that the college is starting on the right footing,” the Governor stated.
He expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for assenting to the bills establishing the College of Agriculture and the Federal College of Education, Birnin Kudu. Governor Namadi also revealed efforts to secure a third federal institution for the state.
“As a government, we will do everything possible to ensure the successful takeoff of the college. You have our full support,” he affirmed.

Earlier, Provost Dr. Muhammad Yusha’u Gwaram assured the Governor that the management team is ready to begin operations immediately.
“This college is to be a specialized institution where modern agricultural techniques will be taught,” the Provost said.
“We are already engaging with relevant regulatory bodies such as NBTE and others required for the takeoff.”
He added that the institution intends to educate local farmers and bring other relevant agencies into Jigawa State.
