The Nasarawa State Police Command has retrained 307 newly passed-out police constables, reinforcing the Inspector-General of Police’s directive for continuous training.

This was disclosed in a statement on Monday by SP Ramhan Nansel, the Nasarawa state police PRO.

Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima J. Moh’d, received the constables after their three-week intensive training at the Mobile Force Training College, Ende-Hills, Nasarawa State.

The training covered specialised skills, including weapon handling, combat tactics, and search-and-rescue operations.

“These officers have received rigorous training to enhance their operational capabilities,” a police spokesperson stated.

CP Shetima addressed the constables, focusing on Force Order 237, which governs the use of firearms.

“You must adhere to the rule of law and maintain the highest standards of professionalism,” CP Shetima instructed.

“Civility, discipline, and integrity are paramount in your interactions with the public.”

He also warned against corruption and misconduct. “Any action that tarnishes the reputation of the Force will not be tolerated,” he emphasised.

CP Shetima reassured the constables that training will be ongoing. “Continuous training is essential to align with the Inspector-General’s vision of a professional and service-orientated police force,” he said.

“We aim to foster attitudinal change and enhance proficiency in policing.”
