Leadership of the National Assembly are meeting organised labour as part of efforts to avert the planned nationwide strike The Nigerian Television Authority NTA reports.

President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio who is presiding over the meeting urges labor to show understanding assuring that the National Assembly will do all it can to see that a compromise is arrived at.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas is also in attendance.

Also at the meeting being held behind closed doors are ministers of key ministries, the President of NLC Joe Ajaero, and that of TUC Festus Osifo.
