The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted multiple consignments of illicit drugs meant for suspected terrorists and bandits in Borno and Yobe states in a series of nationwide operations that also netted two alleged drug kingpins in Lagos.
This is contained in a statement issued by Femi Babafemi, Director, Media & Advocacy, NDLEA Headquarters, Abuja, Sunday, 28th September 2025.
In Borno, operatives arrested 26-year-old Baba Kaka Ibrahim on Sept. 27 at Njimtilo village while driving a Mercedes Benz GLK loaded with 39,380 tramadol and exol-5 pills hidden in the engine compartment.
The same day in Yobe, NDLEA officers stopped Halima Adamu along the Damaturu–Maiduguri road, recovering 39 parcels of Colorado cannabis from her travelling bag.
A follow-up raid led to the arrest of Habiba Muhammad at her Maiduguri residence.
Elsewhere in the North, Kano operatives seized 30,030 tramadol pills from two suspects along the Zaria–Kano road, while in Kaduna, officers recovered 262.6 kilograms of skunk from a vehicle bound for Katsina and arrested two more suspects with methamphetamine and other substances.
The crackdown extended nationwide. In Lagos, NDLEA’s Special Operations Unit arrested alleged drug kingpins Victor Nwosa and Felix Chika Obiegbu after heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine were found in their homes.
In Edo, operatives destroyed more than 24,000 kilograms of cannabis across two forest plantations and intercepted 1,025 kilograms of skunk hidden in a charcoal truck.
Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) commended officers for their “balanced approach” to enforcement and advocacy, noting that every seizure disrupted criminal networks and reduced risks to public health.
