Comrade Garba also outlined the various initiatives undertaken by the Niger State government to achieve food security and mitigate the suffering of its people, including the provision of subsidised grains during the Ramadan fast.
He expressed his gratitude to the Dangote Foundation for their generous contribution and urged other affluent individuals and organisations to follow suit, emphasising that tackling poverty and hunger is a collective responsibility.
“We appreciate the Dangote Foundation for this commendable gesture. Our administration is working tirelessly to eradicate poverty and hunger, and we call on other well-meaning individuals and groups to emulate this act of kindness, as this is a task that requires our joint efforts, he added.
