The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has approved the redeployment of several senior officers of the Nigerian Army, including General Officers Commanding (GOCs), Corps Commanders, and Principal Staff Officers.
This is contained in a statement by the Army Public Relations Director, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, said.
“The redeployment cuts across Principal Staff Officers (PSOs) at the Army Headquarters (AHQ), General Officers Commanding (GOCs), Corps Commanders, Commandants of Army training institutions, Brigade Commanders, and other key positions,” Major General Nwachukwu said.
“The redeployment underscores the Nigerian Armyโs commitment to ensuring a robust and dynamic leadership structure capable of addressing emerging security challenges,” the statement added.
Notable appointments include Maj Gen LA Fejokwu as Chief of Administration (Army), Maj Gen GU Chibuisi as Chief of Civil Military Affairs, and Maj Gen AS Ndalolo as Chief of Training (Army) at Army Headquarters.
Significant changes in command include the appointment of Maj Gen OT Olatoye as GOC 82 Division and Commander JTF Southeast Operation UDO KA and Maj Gen EF Oyinlola as GOC 3 Division and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN.
Several senior officers were also appointed to key positions, including Corps Commanders, Commandants of training institutions, and directors at various departments.
“The Chief of Army Staff has directed all newly appointed senior officers to bring renewed vigour, dedication, and commitment to their duties, particularly while ensuring the sustenance of the ongoing onslaught against terrorism, insurgency, and other threats to national security,” the statement concluded.
“He equally charged them to ensure that the welfare of troops remains paramount as they assume their new appointments.”
