NNPC Reassures Motorists of Petrol Availability, Cautions Against Panic Buyin

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has again advised motorists to avoid panic buying of petrol, assuring them of a 30-day product sufficiency.

A statement issued by the company’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, noted a significant improvement in the supply and distribution of petrol nationwide.

NNPC said queues at filling stations have thinned out in Lagos, Abuja and other monitored states, with further improvement expected across the country.

The company revealed a current petrol stock of over 1.5 billion litres, translating to over 30 days of national supply.

Furthermore, NNPC is collaborating with relevant agencies like the Nigerian Midstream & Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), labor unions and security forces to address hoarding and other disruptive practices.
