No Police Recruitment Commenced: PSC Warns Against Fraudsters

The Police Service Commission (PSC) on Sunday said it has not commenced the recruitment of police officers for the year 2025, warning Nigerians to disregard misleading posts circulating on social media.

In a press release signed by Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations, the Commission described the online claims as โ€œmisleading and mischievous,โ€ stressing that no recruitment exercise has begun.

โ€œThe Commission has not commenced this exercise and obviously will follow established procedures and processes when it is ready,โ€ the statement read. 

โ€œIt hereby advises prospective candidates to ignore the publications and wait for official communication.โ€

The PSC condemned the repeated attempts by fraudsters to exploit Nigerians each time recruitment preparations are underway, urging security agencies to investigate and take action against those behind the false information.

โ€œThe fraudsters are warned to stay off the Commissionโ€™s programs, as they would be fished out and sanctioned according to law,โ€ Ani added.

The Commission assured the public that all future recruitment exercises would be transparent and conducted in line with established rules and regulations.
