With the introduction of Abdulrahman in the second half, the tempo changed. The talented midfielder broke the deadlock in the 60th minute, putting El-Kanemi ahead.

However, Kano Pillars quickly responded with a stunning equaliser — a long-range strike from outside the 18-yard box that many fans described as the goal of the week.

As the game intensified, Abdulrahman found the back of the net again in the 81st minute through a brilliant assist from Al-Amin, sealing victory for the home side.

While Kano Pillars’ squad boasts of superstars that include Nigerian international players Ahmed Musa, Rabiu Ali, and Shehu Abdullahi, among other senior players, El-Kanemi Warriors displayed greater hunger, resilience, and tactical discipline to claim the well-deserved victory.

In a post-match interview, the Kano Pillars technical adviser described the game as a good contest but admitted that his players lost concentration in key moments, allowing El-Kanemi Warriors to capitalise.

El-Kanemi’s Head Coach, Kabiru Dogo, commended the fans for their overwhelming support and urged the Borno State Government to improve the team’s welfare, particularly by providing transportation assistance for away fixtures.
