The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has condemned the attack and abduction of students at the Government Girls’ Comprehensive Senior Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State.
The condemnation was disclosed in a statement issued by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House Gombe, NSGF Chairman, and Gombe State.
The chairman described the assault as “tragic, senseless, and utterly unacceptable.”
Governor Yahaya warned that the continued violence threatens regional stability and education.
“Schools must be sanctuaries of learning, not targets of violence,” Yahaya stated, noting the attack risks reversing gains in school enrollment.
He called for an “immediate and well-coordinated operation” by security agencies to rescue the students and arrest the perpetrators.
The NSGF expressed solidarity with the government and people of Kebbi State, especially the families of the abducted students and officials reportedly killed during the incident.
